How do I submit a report at Samfunnet in Ås?

Being a volunteer at Studentsamfunnet in Ås is supposed to be a safe, fun, and inclusive experience. If you are alerted about or experience boundary-crossing behavior, we want to be notified about this. At Samfunnet in Ås, we are working on creating fixed procedures on how to report such incidents. The guidelines for this apply to objectionable conditions, for example: embezzlement, theft, breach of the duty of confidentiality, conditions that endanger life and health, abuse of power, bullying, harassment, sexual harassment and discrimination.

What is reporting?

To report is to let us know about anything that is not okay, anything that is perceived as uncomfortable or scary, or actions that are illegal.

What can I report?

You can notify us about things you’ve experienced yourself, things that have happened to others, things you’ve been told or things you’ve witnessed. You can report incidents you think are very serious, or things that don’t seem very serious but still aren’t okay. No incidents are too insignificant or too big! This could, for example, be something you experience on our premises, during party nights, during other events put on by Samfunnet, with volunteers or other participants at Samfunnet’s events. If objectionable incidents that are relevant to the volunteer’s position occur, this can be reported, even if these incidents don’t occur in relation to events that Samfunnet are responsible for.

How do I report?

On this website you can find a form for reporting. Here, we ask you to present your case so that our report committee can review the case. It is preferable that the person submitting the report gives their own name, so that the committee can contact them concerning how to handle the case. If you want to submit an anonymous report, this is also totally acceptable, but it will limit the amount of measures the committee are able to take.

You can also send an e-mail to HR@samfunnetiaas.no or leder@samfunnetiaas.no. If you want to contact someone who is no longer an active student, you can contact varsling@samfunnetiaas.no who is an external representative that the House – and Finance board are responsible for.

Who receives the report?

The chief of HR will receive the report. Along with the bodegachief at Studentsamfunnet in Ås, there will be put together a skilled report group to handle the report. Studentsamfunnet in Ås has guidelines and procedures for handling notification cases to ensure a correct processing process. The notifier will be contacted by the HR manager who will explain the process further and ask for more information if necessary. The notifier should be confident that what is shared is confidential and that those handling the case have a duty of confidentiality.
