How Samfunnet is organized

THE BODEGA BLOCK
KONSERNET
This committee consists of approximately 15 members, each responsible for four shifts as party coordinators per semester. The party coordinator has overall responsibility on party nights and works in coordination with security, bar, entrance, and food managers. Coordinators work either alone or in pairs. Free security and first aid courses are offered, providing an opportunity to work professionally as a security guard.

SECURITY COMMITTEE
The Security Committee is responsible for safety at Samfunnet's events. As the largest committee, its members can be found at the entrance and throughout the events. Free security and first aid courses are offered, giving members the opportunity to work professionally as security guards.

BAR COMMITTEE
Behind the bar you’ll mainly work with providing party goers with refreshments. Samfunnet has several beer bars, and one liquor bar is always open. The bar committee is the second largest committee, and they have the most contact with people during events. Free courses in beer, wine and liquor are offered where you’ll learn how to mix a tasty drink.

CARPENTRY COMMITTEE
The “handymen” of Samfunnet work to maintain Samfunnet and build new things, for example bars and shelves.

FOOD COMMITTEE
The food committee are the people who make you delicious midnight snacks to spread foodie joy among hungry Thorvalds and Toras during samfunnets party nights. A typical shift entails preparing ingredients, put together dishes and serve thankful fellow students. You’ll be 3-5 people at work together in the kitchen, and excluding the occasional rush towards the end of the night this is considered a nice and calm shift. Due to this, you’ll get a good mixture of calm socialization and developing your skills by working at a high tempo when it gets going!

ENTRANCE COMMITTEE
Entrance is one of the first committees that greets the guests during a party night. Here, you’ll mainly work with ticket scanning, but the committee is also responsible for wardrobe. There are two different positions in the entrance committee, committee member and entrance manager. As entrance manager you’ll have the overall responsibility of entry during party nights and events, along with the responsibility of the payment terminals around the house.

THE CLUB (KLUBBEN)
Do you want a good cup of coffee, a refreshing beer or a bite to eat? In Klubben you’ll get this and more! Those who work at Samfunnet’s very own café will be trained as baristas and in providing customer service. We’re open every day, all week, so you will get the opportunity to work afternoons and evenings. This is a social and nice position where the coziness and cozy café vibes are our priority.

ADMINISTRATION BLOCK
ADMIN ASSISTANT
The Administrative Assistant is responsible for sending out contracts and ensuring that access cards for everyone in the building are up to date. They work closely with the Head of Administration, providing support wherever needed. Additionally, the Administrative Assistant helps the Room Booking Committee.

Has the computer knowledge on the house, and helps with the technical stuff when needed.

HR-MANAGER
The HR-manager is among other things responsible for the hiring of committee chiefs, privacy at Samfunnet in Ås, the committee chief forum, CF- and committee workshops and following up with the election board. The HR-manager is also the connector between committee chiefs and the board. In addition to this the HR-manager deals with personnel-issues and other administrative tasks. PERSONNEL MANAGERS
The people in personnel summon people to community service and ensure that there are enough people at work during Samfunnet in Ås’ events. We’re also the communication link if there are questions concerning community service or Samfunnet in general.

LINTICKET
The LinTicket-committee runs the ticket and membership system at Samfunnet. We make tickets, send out contracts and help others at Samfunnet and NMBU with issues related to this.

ECONOMY ASSISTANT
Is responsible for shopping for the different committees, find relevant and favorable purchase agreements and keep control of Samfunnet’s committee budget. They also send invoices on behalf of Samfunnet and answer economy related questions.

ACCOUNTANT
The accountants keep the accounts of Studentsamfunnet in Ås.

CLIMATE ACCOUNTING
Work to prepare climate accounts for Studentsamfunnet, which calculate Samfunnet’s climate footprint, as well as the footprints of NU, Tuntreet, UKA and the House and Finance board based on energy usage, purchasing and other activities.

Do the analyzing work at Samfunnet by mapping, treating and analyzing available data. This way, the committee creates a basis for the further running of Samfunnet in Ås.

EVENTS COMMITTEE
The events committee works on planning and carry out events on the semester program. Events vary from theme parties to the different activities that are arranged, like Thorvald and Tora-cup, movie marathon and waffle Sunday. Committee members bring creative input and new thinking for future semester program. What theme would be cool for a party at Samfunnet? Can we cover the Bodega ceiling with balloons? Can we have a sleepover in Aud.Max.? How about a circus team with chocolate fountains, popcorn machines and cotton candy? Only your own creativity is the limit!

QUIZ COMMITTEE
The quiz committee arranges a quiz every Thursday at Samfunnet! The members of the committee members are QuizMasters and run the quiz. As a member you’ll get the opportunity to make questions and are responsible for the implementation of the quiz. Quizzes are usually done every week and as a committee member you work on 8-12 quizzes per semester.

The current committee are responsible for all current and political events at Samfunnet. This entails everything from planning of the semester program and what themes we want, to booking, following up on external issues and the implementation of the events. REVUE COMMITTEE
Chief of revue serves as an advisory body for associations that are organizing a revue during a party night at Samfunnet in Ås. The committee acts as a liaison between the association and the practical work involved in staging a revue.

THE SPRELL FESTIVAL
Chief of the Sprell Festival is responsible for planning and coordinating an entire week of diverse events and activities in collaboration with other KS committees at Samfunnet in Ås.
MARKETING BLOCK
MARKETING COMITTEE
The marketing committee (Mark.Com) is headed by the marketing assistant and consist of: SoMe-manager, two writers (translator and journalist), a web editor and a podcast manager.
The SoMe-manager posts content to Samfunnet’s social medias. The writers write and translate event descriptions, and fill Samfunnet’s website with texts. The web editor is responsible for updating the website. The podcast manager is responsible for for Samfunnet’s podcast “Agrarmetropodden”.

DESIGN & LAYOUT
The design and layour committee (D&L) work to make event photos for the different events that are to be published on Samfunnet’s Facebook page and Instagram. We need creative people that want to challenge themselves and contribute with new ideas for Samfunnet’s visual identity. The D&L committee is headed by a committee chief and consist of 4-5 people.

SPRELL COMMITTEE
The sprell committee is headed by the inclusion manager and consist of 4-5 “sprellers”. As a spreller you have a variety of tasks and a sprellers goal is to get attention and publicity to Samfunnet, and engaging the students in everything that happens at Samfunnet. This means working stands, having photoshoots, hanging up posters and generally just sprelling around campus before different events.

FILM- AND PHOTO COMMITTEE
The film and photo committee films and photographs everything that happens at Samfunnet. To us, no smile is too small, and no toast is too quick. We do our absolute best to show off the vibes and all the amazing moments that are made when Thorvald and Tora are at Samfunnet.
Additionally, the film and photo committee produce all information and promotion materials, and they take resume photos during carreer day. The committee consist of 15 members for photography and 5 members for film.

The SoMe (social media) committee chief has, along with the marketing assistant, the responsibility to update Samfunnet’s social medias. This includes Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. The committee also works and equal amount on content production, planning and publishing of content and stories.

The web committee chief is responsible for updating the Samfunnet website. This consist of updating information and job announcements, as well as build and structure.

SOUND COMMITTEE
The sound committee is responsible for sound during concerts, revues and other events in house. It’s a big responsibility and there is a lot of work behind every concert and revue. It’s crucial that our committee members are good and engaged, without them we wouldn’t have a show!

The lighting committee controls the lights during concerts, revues and other events. Correct lighting is crucial to set the mood during an event. It can vary from a rocking light show during a concert to a comfortable lounge vibe during regular party nights.

DISCO COMMITTEE
The disco committee plays music during Wednesdays and Fridays, but also on requests, to speed up those dancing feet. As a committee member you can control what you want to play and what vibe to create at Samfunnet. If you love music and/or dancing, you can make party nights even cooler in the disco committee!

ARTIST & BOOKING COMMITTEE
Artist&Booking work during the processes leading up to concerts and events at Studentsamfunnet in Ås. Tasks consist of negotiating and concluding contracts with artists, following up and communicating with them leading up to, during and after events. The committee members are responsible for purchasing items on the raiders ahead of time, and are responsible for the artists during their entire stay at Samfunnet in Ås. You’ll ensure that artists have everything they need of food and drinks and will be available for anything else the artist may need.
